About Valorie
From a young age, I’ve been captivated by the transformative power of hair. Whether bold, simple, polished, or wild, hair has the ability to make a statement. With this passion in mind, I enrolled in a cosmetology program at the age of 17. By 18, I had earned my license and began a path of discovery, growth, and artistic development.
Since becoming a licensed hairstylist, I’ve had the opportunity to explore different corners of the craft. From in-salon services to the dynamic world of freelance hairstyling, I’m driven to push creative boundaries and refine my skill set.
My work has included editorial collaborations, most notably with GQ South Africa, where I’ve merged technical precision with creative storytelling. Alongside editorial work, I’ve served as a hairstylist at Coco Rocha Model Camp, styling aspiring models in a fast-paced environment that demands consistency, intention, and camera-ready results for portfolio imagery.
Beyond freelance work, my commitment to working behind the chair has driven me to continue growing. Beginning my journey in Millbrook, New York, I was shaped by strong mentorship before enrolling in a barbering program in 2025 and studying the art of barbering in Manhattan. This experience refined my technique and strengthened my modern, elevated approach behind the chair.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue evolving and crafting meaningful experiences through hair that others can connect with and enjoy.
